| DQTS - Summary of Tools |
 |
Cyclic
Redundancy Check
- Generation of and verification of Cyclic
Redundancy Check values in accordance with the integrity levels specified in Amendment 29
to ICAO Annex 15 to the Convention on Civil Aviation.
- Manual and batch processing of input files
with selective data inclusion capabilities.
- Customisable database of integrity level
polynomials.
|
 |
DATUM
- Transformation between defined geodetic
datums and conversion between defined geodetic datums and map projections.
- Customisable database of national datum and
map projection parameters.
|
 |
Join Inverse
- Calculation of the bearing and distance
along a geodesic between given coordinates.
|
 |
Polar Direct
- Calculation of coordinates from a given
coordinate, bearing and distance along a geodesic.
|
 |
Intersect
- Calculation of the coordinates at the
intersection of two geodesics.
|
 |
Collinearity
- Calculation of line of best fit from given
coordinates and calculation of corresponding residuals.
|
 |
GEOLAT Calculation of
the following:-
- Coordinates of the points of intersection of
a geodesic with up to three geodetic circles.
- Nearest approach distance of a geodesic to a
point and the point on the geodesic abeam this offset point.
- Geodesics which pass through a common point
and are tangential to a defined geodetic circle.
|
 |
CHECKLOC
- Verification of the geodetic location of a
given coordinate by the comparison of the geodetic position of the coordinate with a
benchmark defined as a circle or polygon.
|
 |
SLANT
RANGE
- Calculation of the straight line distance
between two given coordinates taking into account the elevation of the coordinates.
|
 |
GEO-BORDER/GEODESIC
INTERSECTION
- Calculation of the
intersection point(s) between a geo-border and a geodesic.
|
 |
GEO-BORDER/CIRCLE
INTERSECTION
- Calculation of the
intersection points between a geo-border and a circle.
|
 |
DATABASE
CONNECTION
- Flexible data
exchange. A limited number of ODBC compliant data sources can be
accessed via the DQTS. DQTS has only be tested with MS Access, MS
Excel, Text and Oracle datasources.
|
 |
REPORTING
- Report generation
enabling records to be produced for traceability,
archive and quality purposes.
|
The DQTS, which consists of a suite
of validated software capable of supporting these processes, is designed to assist the
producers of aeronautical data to ensure that the necessary high levels of data integrity
are maintained.
The family of tools provides a comprehensive
geodetic calculation and secure integrity capability for the processing of aeronautical
navigation data.
The Join Inverse and Polar
Direct tools can be configured to
perform spherical and planar in addition to ellipsoidal calculations, and
the Intersect tool can be configured to perform spherical calculations.
 |
The tools are supported
and maintained by Mileridge Limited. |

The Data Quality Tool Set is
available in two variants:-
1. A Personal
Computer variant providing an integrated package
of tools designed to run under Microsoft Windows. The minimum PC specification is:
- Processor - Pentium or equivalent
- RAM - 16 Mb
- Hard disk space - 30 Mb
- Screen Display - SVGA 800 x 600 resolution
- Peripherals - Mouse
- Operating System - MS Windows 95,
98, NT
2. Dynamic
Link Library (DLL) packages
allowing third parties to build the DQTS calculation tool functionality into
their own software applications. The tool packages are fully documented and
include test data. The DLLs were written in Delphi and may also be called
from C. Calls from Visual Basic may also be accommodated.
Version 4 of the DQTS is available
on CD-Rom, together with accompanying user documentation.
DQTS Training is available on
request. For further information please contact helpdesk@dqts.net.
